Working in a Covid Unit is physically emotionally and mentally draining. However, I have witnessed how hard-working Mylene is. Every shift I am working with her. She doesn't seem to run out of energy and enthusiasm. She constantly runs out around the unit to help patients and as well her colleagues. She is readily available to lend a helping hand to those in need regardless of whether she is a task nurse, the charge nurse, and even if she has patients.

There was a shift where the acuity of the unit was very high. We had to intubate a few patients in the unit and prone them and we also had X2 code blues. Despite having her own patients, Mylene would safely leave her bed space to help her colleagues in all the intubations, proving, and in all the codes. One of the code blues was one of her patients. It was very demoralizing to lose another patient to COVID, however, this has not stopped Mylene from giving it her 100%. She stayed composed, didn't seem stressed, and didn't rush during those stressful situations. She has a contagious laugh that puts a smile on all our faces despite having a busy shift. We are truly lucky to have such a fantastic nurse like Mylene.

Thank you, Mylene, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
