Mylene is an exceptional leader. When I expressed concern about our dying patient, S, who longed to see her 8-month-old baby, Mylene immediately showed empathy and took action. Despite being off duty, she collaborated with her colleagues to facilitate the baby’s visit, demonstrating her dedication as an advocate for S's needs. S, a blind patient who had been in our care for over a month, was known for her affectionate nature and heartfelt appreciation for her caregivers. During her deteriorating condition, she often expressed her desire to hold her baby one last time.

Mylene’s immediate response was nothing short of miraculous; it allowed S to experience a precious moment with her child, fulfilling her last wish. This compassionate act not only brought joy to S in her final hours but also showcased Mylene's unwavering commitment to her patients. After cherishing that moment of cuddling her baby, S peacefully slept and passed away a few hours later, surrounded by the love she so deeply desired. Mylene’s selflessness and dedication to caring for both patients and their families truly embody the spirit of nursing excellence and the profound impact a single act of kindness can have.
