(a) Myra has been a dedicated employee for 30+ years at HMC. For the 20 years I have known her, she has consistently been a kind, compassionate nurse to every patient she has cared for. Myra has a high regard for continuing education. She went back to school and completed her masters in Social Work in her 50's. She is very knowledgeable and continuously looks for ways to improve and expand her nursing knowledge in order to given the best care possible to her patients. She has an extremely patient and calm demeanor and has the ability to diffuse a difficult situation or personality in a positive and very affective way. Myra is a wonderful example of a Harborview nurse!!
(b) Myra has been a nurse at HMC for over 34 years. During that time she has worked in many capacities as an RN. She was one of the founding nurses of the ASU. Myra is the best resource nurse I have ever met. She has helped many, many nurses orient to HMC and the ASU, and she does it with compassion, style, humor and grace. She is ALWAYS willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for her fellow nurses and for her patients. During her time here at HMC Myra has also acquired a Master's degree in Social Work, and uses those skills often here in the ASU. I can't say enough good things about Myra Rintamaki. She is so loved by her coworkers that I believe everyone in the ASU and indeed, everyone that Myra deals with, would love to see her receive this award.
(c) Myra is an extremely dedicated and compassionate nurse. She has served over 3 decades here at Harborview and consistently shows caring and compassion with each and every patient she encounters. Her expertise and experience over the years serves her well with even the most difficult patients, which can keep you quite busy here. A patient teacher and role model, often a valuable resource to her coworkers having earned a Master’s degree in Social work. Myra’s dedication and energy extends beyond the workplace also. She founded Gold Star Moms which is a support network helping mothers of fallen Marines. Myra has also fostered countless children over the years as well as adopted three of her own. She has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know and am proud to call her my friend and coworker.
