I had just moved from the UK and relapsed in my colitis. I was very nervous the morning of my colonoscopy as I’ve always been terrified of cannulas since diagnosis of my colitis at age 7. Myra was the first nurse who attended to me and on that morning she was so kind and loving and attentive to my feelings. Although I didn’t implicitly express my anxiety she immediately read my emotions from my body language and from that moment she took my hand, reassured me, and inserted my cannula without me even knowing. 6 months into my treatment and she has been there for me throughout and shown me such love and care I consider her family now.
