I am a 53-year-old woman, a nonsmoker who had a major heart attack. Everyone in CCU was fantastic. I was able to go home just days later. However, on Monday morning, I began to have similar, but not as defined symptoms as I did the day of my heart attack. So back to the ER I went, extremely scared and disappointed. I was soon admitted and in a bed. Myranda was the nurse on the day shift. She immediately comforted both my husband and me by treating us like family. She communicated clearly and explained everything from blood work to procedures and medications to us. She was compassionate when I was told that I was having a re-cath through the same wrist as last week. She talked me through my fears and my tears. I was fortunate to have Myranda as my daytime nurse for my entire stay in the unit. Each evening when she left for the day, she wished me a good night and told me that she would see me the next morning. And when morning came she walked into my room with a smile on her face and a positive attitude ready to help me through another day of uncertainty.
