Nacoa "Nikki" Grace, RN

In a moment of crisis, three United Regional team members — Nikki and two other non-nursing staff members — demonstrated extraordinary composure, teamwork, and swift decision-making that made a life-saving difference. As a patient was leaving Bridwell Tower, she suffered a severe injury by scraping her leg while trying to enter her vehicle, resulting in rapid and significant blood loss. Without hesitation, Nikki was part of the team that acted quickly to help apply pressure, find the stop the bleed kit, apply a tourniquet, and get her across the street to our ED entrance.  Nikki even lost a shoe in the process of getting the patient safely to the ED.
