We are grateful to have met Nadia during our mother’s stay as an inpatient at Swedish Issaquah. Nadia’s exceptionally compassionate nature and excellence at her job were evident in how she listened deeply to our concerns.

Nadia saw a person beyond the numbers on the chart screen and heard our concerns about ensuring our mother would be safe upon discharge. She researched procedures and places to find us a path to exactly the care our mother needed for her post-hospital stay. She took into account how our mother felt both physically and emotionally, and she never made us feel we were troubling her with our concerns. She had great integrity, clearly explaining what was and was not possible and working with her contacts to find solutions that addressed our concerns, even making calls after hours and on weekends. She was generous with her time, stopping by frequently to keep us appraised of steps she was taking and to give us updates.

Her presence and care calmed us all. We felt safe with her advocating for us.

Although not the most important thing we would like to note that she dresses distinctly, which made her role as a transitional figure to the outside world-more clear. My mom still mentions her spunky red boots. Nadia’s happy clothing, lovely smiles, and can-do spirit were cheering during an otherwise gloomy and stressful time.

There were many exceptional nurses who helped care for our mother during her stay, and we wish to thank them all. Nadia, however, was the most memorable, and we will always be grateful for her care. For us, she was the model of compassion, justice, excellence, dignity, integrity, and safety. We wish her all the best!
