Nadia Umutesi 2, RN

Nadia received at least eight nominations for the DAISY Award from patients. Her kindness and compassion are widely recognized by patients. One nomination commented on how Nadia made them feel so important and valued during their hospitalization, and that it made all the difference in their mental health recovery. Another patient commented that Nadia gave her the courage she needed to work hard and heal - and that Nadia's support made them feel safe and less anxious. Nadia has been described as an "angel" in her nominations, making patients feel comfortable, welcome, and understood. Most importantly, many of our patients with suicidal thoughts and severe depression felt Nadia was incredibly therapeutic and gave them "hope." Nadia is a true role model for compassionate care in the field of mental healthcare.
