Nadine is well known throughout not just on our unit but all of North Shore for her compassion and excellent patient care. As you walk down the halls of 6 Monti, you can often hear her singing to her patients. She is always kind and displays the utmost respect for all of her patients and teammates. Nadine keeps a positive attitude that is contagious to anyone she is around. She is a leader, often taking the role of charge nurse and jumping in to help when issues arise.
As a preceptor, Nadine welcomes her orientees with open arms. She sets a good example for them and remains a lasting mentor. Nadine is nurturing at all times and takes newer nurses under her wings. She treats her orientees like her own children, often referring to them as her sons and daughters. She has become a role model to all of the staff on our unit, always jumping in to help others. On nights when she is off from work, you can almost always expect at least one phone call to the nurse's station where she will check in on the unit and on her patients.
Nadine has become an advocate for positive change on our unit. As the unit evolves, Nadine has embraced learning new things and encourages others to do so as well. Nadine is a major asset not just to our unit but to all of North Shore, her compassion, teamwork, and extraordinary patient care are only some of the amazing traits that make Nadine a true DAISY Nurse.
When asking patients about their nurse from last night, when she is on, the answer is always superb, one of a kind, or "she's so great, she even sang to me". She was truly made to be a nurse and has mastered the art of caring!
