I am nominating Nadine because she literally made my ability to face my horrible circumstances more bearable. When I came to Waterman ER with a blaring headache, they quickly admitted me to take the time to find out what was going on. In a short time, testing revealed that I had a very dangerous and often fatal viral meningitis. To anyone, this is devastating news, but I had Nadine! She was not only a highly competent and educated nurse, but her empathy was beyond compare! She took the time to answer every question to the best of her ability. My anxiety was high due to the possibility of facing death and she was caring with a loving ear and never hesitated to spend extra time. I never felt rushed with her. She kept my family members notified of my status and answered their questions just as kindly as she did mine. I felt blessed each day to have such an exemplary nurse. I beg of you; please give her the recognition she deserves as an outstanding nurse who is true to her profession.
