Ms. Mohammed initially started as an educator, quickly adding interim manager to her duties. Within six months, we were into the pandemic which she has also managed with equal calmness and expertise. Her communication skills are exceptional; responding promptly to emails, queries, and unique circumstances within a changing environment. Her conversations regarding areas to improve are not punitive, and she listens openly to staff ideas, feedback, and questions. Her multi-tasking skills are next level, and she never loses her cool or is short-tempered. She has made herself available and has pitched in to do charge nurse when things are especially hectic or shorthanded. She is fair and clear. People want to work in our unit, and I credit excellent leadership as fostering a positive effective unit with staff who are thankful to work in such a good place even when things are frenetic.
