Nadya was a shoulder to lean on during the hardest days and truly helped what was the scariest, most challenging time of our lives more bearable.
My twin daughters were born at 24 weeks gestation. When a baby is born so early, you don’t know what’s going to happen. You’re given a pamphlet that shows the statistics of your child surviving at such a gestation. Nadya lead us with positivity. From the first few days of my girls' lives, she would share insight on what it would be like when we brought them home and advice on how to best care for them. She had faith in them from day one. Every shift she had, she went above and beyond to take care of our girls as if they were her own. She advocated for them. She would stay late to be sure the next nurse who cared for our girls had a complete understanding of what was going on. She picked up shifts to take care of them and took the time to get to know my girls so she could best meet their needs. An example would be instead of jumping to administering a pain medication due to a high heart rate, she tried to understand why. It turns out that my daughter was tired of being on her back. She critically thinks about the situation while adding her motherly instincts. It’s a perfect recipe. Nadya was a shoulder to lean on during the hardest days and truly helped what was the scariest, most challenging time of our lives more bearable. She has remained a reliable and constant person in our lives, and words will never explain how grateful we are for her.
