Nurse Tosha met me for the first time last night, and in doing so, she showed positive character and commitment, and her attention to me made a big difference during my stay. She stayed in my room for more than 40 minutes working on my continuous dialysis machine while others came in, looked, and walked away. She is someone who advocates for her patients. She made sure to coordinate with respiratory therapy so that I could be taken off the breathing mask and placed on a nasal cannula to be evaluated by speech therapy while still maintaining good oxygen saturation.

Before that, between being intubated and wearing the breathing mask, speech therapy could not evaluate my swallowing, so I did not eat or drink for days. Clinically, I find her to be above and beyond because she came up with options that were not presented to me by anyone else. Tosha made a massive impact on my stay.
