Her take-charge attitude was matched by her warmth, compassion, and a deep sense of commitment.
After an unexpected C-section, failed epidural, postpartum hypertension diagnosis, and the arrival of our small baby, we were overwhelmed, physically and emotionally. From the moment Nana walked into our room, everything changed. She treated our son with such tenderness and love as if he were her own, and gave me the hands-on support I desperately needed as a new mom. She wasn’t afraid to get right in and help with latching, patiently coaching me through it with confidence and care. Nana did such a great job helping me navigate breastfeeding through the difficult challenges. I really felt encouraged and cared for with Nana as my nurse. What truly stood out was her leadership – Nana set clear, achievable goals for us during our time with her, which gave our time purpose and direction. Her take-charge attitude was matched by her warmth, compassion, and a deep sense of commitment. She made us feel like we had known her for years, and we trusted her completely – enough to wish she were our own “night nurse!” Nana made a challenging experience one of connection, growth, and love. She took an incredibly traumatic experience for me and my husband and turned it around. Nana is exactly the kind of nurse every family hopes for – and she truly deserves to be recognized.

I was the patient who received excellent care from nurse Nana. My fiancé and family felt the same way and noticed the extra mile she would go to make us comfortable. We absolutely loved nurse Nana! She was very attentive, caring, funny, and upbeat. She never hesitated to answer any one of our questions nor made us feel like we were inexperienced, especially with this being our first child. I felt like she took care of me in the manner that a mother would care for her child. Nurse Nana educated us a lot on how babies need to be fed and cared for when we were struggling. She was very knowledgeable and patient, attentive, and quick. Also, she would follow up to see how things were going. She kept things light and always made sure I felt understood and respected. She deserves to be recognized because it does not feel like this is her job, but more of a calling to help women in this vulnerable time. Thank you, Nurse Nana!
