November 2013 Honoree
nancy byxbee, RN
Nancy's patients always come first and their needs are always taken care of. She always manages to do the extra little things that make a huge difference in patient care and satisfaction. Here is one example of her exemplary care:
Nancy was taking care of an elderly patient with pneumonia. Throughout the day this patient's condition deteriorated. Nancy stayed at the bedside most of the afternoon and made numerous calls of concern to the physician. The patient did not die that day. She reminded all of us that day that DNR does not mean do nothing. She reminded all of us that we must always be patient advocates. She is truly a deserving DAISY Honoree!

Thank you, Nancy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
