The day Nancy walked into our hospital room was one of the most difficult times in our lives. Our daughter A had just been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. We were sad, scared, shocked, and overcome with emotions. Nancy brought us into focus. She gave us clarity, direction, and most importantly comfort. We are blessed to have had her be the gift that walked into our room that day. We have been an Albany Med family since 2011, and Nancy has been with us every step of the way. Not only is she a gift to me, to my husband, and A, but I know she is a blessing to all those Type 1 families she meets. Living with Type 1 is hard, but knowing there is a gentle, caring, and amazingly knowledgeable nurse by your side is so reassuring. When I close my eyes at night to count my blessings she is at the top of my list, and she's been there for almost seven years. Thank you, Nurse Nancy!
