Every improvement my mother had, no matter how small it was, she celebrated with us and we came to share tears of sadness and joy. Nancy became part of the family.
I am very excited to write these lines, my mom was admitted to intensive care, where she was hospitalized for a month and a half, from the moment we met Nancy we never wanted the shift to end, she is an exceptional nurse. The first few days they controlled mom's pain with medication, Nancy was very empathetic and explained to us what she was going through.
One day she told me that she could not give my mom a bath because it broke her heart to see her in so much pain, it is incredible to feel so much love and empathy from the one who is taking care of your mother. After 8 days of acute pain, the doctors decided to intubate my mom. Nancy always gave us moral support and treated my mom with so much love, gentleness, delicacy, and care.
When it was her day off, we waited for her return, knowing that she would give us GREAT SECURITY. Many times she would explain medical stuff to us that we did not understand, she always had a willingness that went above and beyond the call of duty. She would sit and pray for Mom, talk to her, encourage her to keep going, and explain everything she was going to do to her, even if she was sedated.
She has a great human quality, she never limited herself to do only what she was supposed to do and always gives the EXTRA in her work. On many occasions, she stayed after her shift to give specifications to the nurse on the next shift. Every improvement my mother had, no matter how small it was, she celebrated with us and we came to share tears of sadness and joy. Nancy became part of the family.
Those were the most difficult days of my life and I am grateful for all the support we had from Nancy to get through them. It is admirable that, despite the fatigue, we always saw her with a smile on her face, a kind attitude, and exceptional warmth. Nancy, you are a very special person! We will be eternally grateful for having coincided with you. Thank you for your love, patience, and dedication. You are an angel and I hope that God will give you back to you and multiply all the good you do for others.
