Nancy saw me from my first appointment after my high-risk twin pregnancy through all of my subsequent appointments until the 6-month post-partum checkup. During my first appointment, I was terrified. It was my first pregnancy and I had all of these worst-case scenarios running through my head. Nancy's presence was immediately calming and of course, she said to stop Googling everything because it would just keep scaring me. I felt beyond comfortable telling her all of my concerns and symptoms. She never made me feel foolish for asking questions. If I was ever concerned between appointments, my husband would calm me by saying, "Remember what Nancy said, everything is fine." I mentioned Nancy to my mom so many times that she also began to ask me what Nancy said after each appointment. I have always suffered from white coat syndrome and Nancy was able to keep me so calm that my blood pressure was always lower when she took it! The pandemic also added a level of stress to the pregnancy and my appointments. I was hardly leaving my house and seeing very few people outside of my family members, so Nancy took on an almost friend-like role. Her questions during appointments seemed more like just catching up instead of sterile and clinical. I am so thankful that she was able to see me through my entire journey. There is not one specific moment that made me recommend Nancy for this award. All the moments from my first appointment to my last were better because of her care. I am confident that I would not have been in such a positive mental space with my care if it were not for her.
