Eight years ago, I had the pleasure of having Nancy as my primary nurse, who administered IVIG treatment weekly in my home. Now, once again needing to return to treatment, Nancy is once again my Home Infusion nurse. I could not be more grateful for her clarity and professionalism, knowing what needs to be done, her empathy for a patient who has many doubts, going into this treatment, and for her thoroughness and seeking out the necessary and correct information from the pharmacy, the Immunologist, and any medical professional involved, in order to be sure that I have not only the correct medication, plus the correct dose and most importantly, that I am comfortable with! Although I could not have the treatment today, “my first dose,” Nancy made it her job to set up the correct supplies, the correct medication, and a day in the very near future that is comfortable for me to start the IVIG! Without Nancy‘s interest and professional care today, I may not have started this treatment at all. There were so many unanswered questions that she answered and made me feel comfortable, and as a result, I will undergo this treatment. Nancy is truly an asset to nursing and a blessing to her patients.
