I recently gave birth to my son and Nancy took care of me during the post-partum portion of my visit. I am also an RN working at Carle so I understand how hectic things can be for us nurses at times! Although the day was busy Nancy's care for me was exceptional. Being a new Mother, there was so much I needed to learn regarding the care for my newborn and myself after delivery, it was overwhelming. I had so many questions- "Am I doing this right? Is this normal? What do you recommend?" She was there for me every step of the way.

I could tell the unit was busy that day, regardless she really took the time to make sure I understood everything and I never once felt rushed. I can't say enough how much this helped me to have confidence in myself and the mothering of my new little one. I really felt like she cared about me and my baby as PEOPLE and not just patients and I can't thank her enough. I know I am just one of the many she probably connects with and impacts everyday buy I want to say that I will never forget her and the Motherly wisdom and advice she gave me in just her 12 hour shift!

When packing up our little guy and saying our goodbyes to everyone I hugged her and thanked her for her excellent care, "It's no problem she said, I once had a bad experience at a different hospital so I've made it my mission to make it a good one for others here." For me she did just that. She is an amazing nurse and really captures exactly who I want to be with my own patients. What a true credit to our profession!
