My husband had prostate surgery in December. He was assigned to N5 where he met Nancy. My husband’s surgery was very normal while the care he received was exceptional. What made his care exceptional was his nurse Nancy. Upon meeting Nancy I could tell she was an excellent nurse. Nancy was very knowledgeable about what would occur during my husband’s stay. She was able to inform him about what to expect which removed some of the anxiety that he was feeling. Her kindness and empathy were apparent. While she was attending him it felt like he was her main priority even though she had other patients. Her energy was positive. She provided me with the information that I needed to be able to care for my husband when he came home. She used humor to make sure the anxiety of the situation was alleviated. Nancy is an asset to Reading Hospital and we were very lucky to have been provided with her care.
