Nancy hasn't missed a beat in checking in, listening, and asking good follow-up questions to ensure my wife feels heard and cared for.
Nancy and V were rays of sunshine in our world as we watched our dear dad go through test after test and be in pain. Their smiles and listening ears helped calm our fears and troubled world. Words cannot express what a smiling, caring, loving person does to calm your anxiety. They would answer all our questions and let us know what was going on and what we should watch for. They were always looking in to see if Dad was comfortable and ask him what he needed. We thank them and also the very special nurse assistant for their comfort and love!

I have been having a sickle cell attack for about 4 days. I have had some excruciating pain in my shoulder as well. She helped soothe me and calm me down while I waited for the pain to subside. I can honestly say that I have never had a nurse be so darn compassionate to me. She helped me by showing me how to breathe. I also adored talking to her. She made me feel normal like I wasn't in the hospital due to my sickle cell. She was awesome to me. My favorite thing about her is the fact that when I was crying, she helped soothe me by softly touching my arm and massaging my face. She calmed my panic. She was (and is) such a sweetheart. She is kind, understanding, quick with getting meds, and a great conversationalist. I enjoyed being able to talk with her and have her as my nurse. She is at the correct job. I'm happy to have had her as my nurse. I really admire her and love that she's been my nurse. A big ol' thank you to her!

I'm submitting this award on behalf of my wife, L. Nancy has demonstrated a very kind and compassionate nature while caring for my wife in her post-operative recovery from a hysterectomy. This procedure has been very emotionally trying for my wife. The first thing she did when she woke up was cry. She couldn't talk yet, but she could cry. Nancy was an immediate "mom" to my wife. Bringing calm and sympathetic confidence to her.

Unbeknownst to us, my wife gets nausea from general anesthesia, was caught off guard during a bathroom run, and was vomiting. Nancy was calm and gentle during the process. Providing physical and emotional reassurance and competently and quickly dealing with the situation to maintain my wife's dignity and safety. I've had to leave my wife alone at the hospital to manage care for our three young children, and Nancy has been personally engaging in conversation and companionship. I was pleasantly surprised by how much they have connected in such a short time. It has greatly eased the burden of our situation and given my wife her shine back more quickly. I've never heard my wife praise a nurse so freely.

Nancy hasn't missed a beat in checking in, listening, and asking good follow-up questions to ensure my wife feels heard and cared for. Nancy and the team have been crystal clear and effective in communicating all the processes, procedures, etc. She is clear, respectful, and complimentary of all those she works with in the unit when they are in the room together.
