I am happy to nominate Nancy Poulin for the DAISY Award. I recently spent a week in the hospital. I was dealing with painful issues with my legs. After a couple of days, I had a little breakdown, feeling frustrated and crying. Then Nancy walked in. She came and sat beside me. The compassion and caring she showed me was something I hadn't felt for a very long time. She assured me that I was where I needed to be. I actually felt validated for the first time in so long. Every day she made me feel like I could come out of the situation I was in. She always made time to come in, joke or talk. It is these small things that make a patient feel like a person also. Your hospital is fortunate to have such a dedicated nurse as Nancy. The strength and drive she instilled in me will help me finish the journey I am on and I will heal. I know this because Nancy said so.
