Nancy Powers, RN was nominated by a patient's family member when his wife was admitted with an unexpected illness for 39 days over a 3 month period.

"We were particularly impressed and impacted by the performance of Nancy. When my wife was first admitted it was hoped that her condition would not require surgery. Unfortunately, after a couple of days her condition did not improve and surgery was indicated. Nancy followed these developments diligently and clearly on heightened alert. Nancy kept us up to date on every development so that we would be in a position to hope for the best, but be prepared for potential complications. Nancy has been tremendously supportive and compassionate throughout the entire ordeal. She has made us feel comfortable and confident that my wife was getting the best care possible and is a real credit to Winchester Hospital and her profession."
