The majority of Nancy’s 30-year career has been in Labor and Delivery and the Birth Place. We are blessed that she has recently joined our Endoscopy family. Nancy is a caring and compassionate listener which is evident in her day-to-day interactions with patients. I have witnessed her compassion and love for her patients first hand.
…
The other morning Nancy asked to go up to the SICU for a moment. I said, “Of course;” not thinking anything of it. Later that morning she told me why she needed to go to the SICU. She went to see her patient from the day before to bring her flowers because it was the patient’s 58th wedding anniversary.
…
Nancy is well-deserving of DAISY recognition. She is one of the most kind and compassionate nurses I know. I am extremely lucky to work side by side her every day.
…
Nancy was nominated by a family that had their first encounter with her was during an emergent situation. Despite the serious nature of the event, Nancy was able to calm the patient’s fears with gentle and kind words. The patient had to return to the Endoscopy Suite a few days later, and Nancy passed by the patient’s bed to say hello. Nancy then went and spoke to the other nurse and they switched assignments so she could take care for her during her case. The patient had an instant look of peace and relief that Nancy was going to be caring for her again.
Nancy always is putting her patients first and does it in a beautiful and caring way.
