A very dear friend of mine was a patient here at Perry and admitted to FACU in very serious condition. Every staff member provided great care as both the family and I witnessed. Nancy stood out with her care measures throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
She periodically came to the patient room to check on the family offering coffee, anything they needed and cleaned up things in the room very quietly comforting as she glided through.
My friend became a hospice patient and was quickly fading away.
She comforted family in the hallway when she noticed it was needed. She checked on comfort orders and ensured everything for comfort was being addressed. She brought a tray of coffee and muffins on Sunday morning to support family who had stayed or came to visit.
She provided education and support to all involved and I was so thankful for all of her help and support for the two young daughters who lost their mom after only 2.5 days of hospice and time to adjust.
Nancy's attention to detail while quietly comforting made the difference, which helped the patient and family throughout their journey.
