Nancy goes out of her way to follow up to see how you are doing and has kept up with my breastfeeding journey with both of my girls. There is no way I would have made it without her guiding me.
Nancy and the whole lactation department at Covenant Children’s are such a blessing to new moms. Nancy helped me with my first baby who had issues latching and continuously checked in on me while I was so stressed as a first-time mom. She even changed my daughter's first diaper…or showed my husband how to. I requested her when my second child was born, and she did everything she could to make sure we were doing well. She is one of the easiest people to talk to and is always helping troubleshoot when there is a problem. Nancy goes out of her way to follow up to see how you are doing and has kept up with my breastfeeding journey with both of my girls. There is no way I would have made it without her guiding me. She is a true gem!

Nancy was so helpful to me with lactation concerns during the birth and postpartum period with my last two children. I really don’t know that I would have successfully breastfed either of them for so long (18 months with my first and 2 years with my second) if she was not there for help during the birth and so available to me afterward for phone calls and questions. She was always so friendly, kind, and supportive. I felt like she very genuinely wanted to help, and I never felt like a burden to her, like I have felt in other medical situations before. She is truly one of a kind and so supportive of moms and babies. I am due to have my third baby soon and I’m so happy to know that she is still part of the team at Covenant Children’s Nancy has served Covenant's mommies and babies for over 45 years!

She has demonstrated distinction amongst her peers as she labors to support, assist, educate, equip, and empower her patients to breastfeed their vulnerable infants. With current education under her belt, Nancy is ready and willing to consistently and selflessly give of herself to serve her patients. Patients galore, for generations, have shared their personal testimony of how they wanted to quit breastfeeding because of physical exhaustion, perceived failure, or obstacles faced while feeding a sick infant, but continued to breastfeed only because of Nancy's help. Nancy has single-handedly led these mothers to successfully breastfeed their newborns, resulting in healthier infants, healthier mothers, healthier families, and healthier communities! Her bulletin board above her desk, covered in pictures of healthy babies mailed to her over the years, testifies to her patients' great appreciation. There is no way to quantify the number of babies who have been breastfed directly because of Nancy's great care, encouragement, skill, and tenacity. Patients continually request Nancy, and she is, by far, the most noted by patients on the Covenant HEROES cards. In fact, a new card was presented today with this written on it, "Nancy goes beyond what is expected, offers help even if it will take her time and effort. She is dedicated to work and goes the extra mile to meet patient expectations. I hope you'll train more people to be just like you, Nancy, because you are awesome!" This is just a tiny example of the MANY comments we receive from patients who are immensely grateful to Nancy for showing excellence every day. She is not only the patient's HERO, but she is her co-workers' HERO as well!
