Nancy recently completed a Face to Face assessment at an assisted living facility on a Friday afternoon. The patient was actively dying and was alone, with no family present. An admission nurse was scheduled to complete the admission at 8 p.m. Nancy knew this patient would require crisis care due to the patient's symptoms. Nancy's compassion and care would not allow her to leave this patient's side until the admission nurse arrived. Nancy stayed with the patient until 8 p.m., past her work schedule on a recent Friday night. Nancy exhibited true reassurance, care, compassion and respect to this patient at the end of her life. Nancy is a true example of what true service and hospice care means! Thank you, Nancy!
