Nancy even went to the palliative care room and placed a small Christmas tree and decorated it for the patient and family.
As a co-worker, I recently witnessed Nancy Webb caring for a patient with compassion. The patient was aware of the upcoming holidays, and their wish was to make it to Christmas to be surrounded by family and by their Christmas tree. The decision was made to make the patient comfortable and move the patient to palliative care and hospice care. Nancy went above and beyond her nursing duty to make sure the patient and family were comfortable, and had everything they needed and wanted until the patient was transferred to palliative care. Nancy even went to the palliative care room and placed a small Christmas tree and decorated it for the patient and family. Nancy was very patient and passionate about making the patient and family feel at home, including even shedding a few tears during the patient's final days and answering any questions and concerns the family had. This is not the first occasion I have witnessed Nancy go well beyond her job to make sure her patients and families are made at home during their hospital stays. Nancy is an outstanding nurse every day she comes to work, but this day she was a true DAISY Nurse.
