Nanette always goes above and beyond for her patients. On several occasions this summer, she has brought her patients flowers from her garden. She tells patients about her garden and then the next day when she arrives at their room for bedside report, she provides the flowers as a surprise. The patients have been overwhelmed by this thoughtfulness and have been seen sharing the story of their flowers with everyone who visits. When I asked Nanette about it, she said, "I have so many and enjoy my garden every day. I want to share them, so I can make my patients feel better. This way we can all enjoy the flowers".
