August 2026 Honoree
Naomi Costabile, RN
I wanted to recognize Naomi and Arthur for the outstanding care they provided to my daughter-in-law. She very suddenly became ill that day, requiring ICU care. They had informed my son that he was going to lose his 26-year-old wife, the love of his life, that day.
Arthur and Naomi did everything in their power to not only provide excellent nursing care to her but to emotionally support all of our family, especially my son, as he was losing his wife. For anything we asked for, they made sure we had it and were prompt to ask if there was anything they could do for us or anything we needed.
They treated her with respect and compassion, and as if she were family. Her parents flew in to say goodbye as well, and Naomi took extra time to make sure she looked her best when they arrived.
The way Arthur compassionately helped walk my son through the DNR, comfort care, and withdrawal of care was done with great professionalism. He walked through the process with every family member that had questions, and even if we were asking the same questions over and over again, he answered them with patience and compassion.
They were very thorough in double-checking and making sure that we had everything done the way we wanted to have it done for her, including making sure she had pain medications in the end to ensure that she was not suffering and was comfortable.
The entire ER staff and everyone in the ICU were incredible during her brief hospital stay. But Arthur and Naomi, during the dying process, really went above and beyond, and for that, our family will be eternally grateful.
Even after losing her, we still discuss the compassionate care that she received, and we knew she was in the best hands.
