I have worked with Naomi for over 15 years and there have been times I have witnessed her compassion for our patients. We have the privilege to work with many children who have chronic problems. Parents and patients rely on Naomi to advocate for them, see that the referrals happen, she listens and cares. We have many patients who will wait until Naomi is in because they trust her and know she will give 100% to make sure their needs are met. She has a great sense of humor and loves kids. This is helpful when you're trying to get an IV in and you have both a nervous parent and patient. She is skillful, knowledgable, and thorough. Her triage notes are excellent, she is trusted by providers and staff. She was one of the first nurses in our department to become certified in Telephone Triage. She is now working on becoming certified also in Pediatrics. As a lead in our department she has worked toward building a strong team by being transparent, listening to problems and allowing others to share their ideas on how to fix them. She is responsible for staff schedules, she is fair and staff appreciate her attention to their needs. Going back to patient care, I see hugs and kids eyes light up when she is there. She would be a well deserving Daisy recipient.
