Furthermore, during my 6 years in the medical field in the military and my wife’s 13 years in healthcare, we have rarely seen the level of dedication and compassion displayed so naturally by Naomi.
To some, nursing is just a job. This is not the case with Naomi; she took great care in making my mother feel at home. Naomi would hold my mother’s hand and reassure her while she was scared. She would tell her stories and distract her when nothing else could be done. No matter how busy she became, she always made time to make my mother feel calm and confident. My mother is scared at the best of times now, yet only when Naomi was on shift was that fear assuaged. My mother would perk up just so she could have another little conversation. This isn’t to say the other nurses were not good, because everyone was excellent, but Naomi made it a point to go above and beyond.

Whether my father or mother, both of my parents have been in hospitals numerous times over the past few years. Furthermore, during my 6 years in the medical field in the military and my wife’s 13 years in healthcare, we have rarely seen the level of dedication and compassion displayed so naturally by Naomi. It is simply beyond courteous and kind. There is also a desire to accomplish her duty with precision and intuition that is rare in all fields. She made it a point to do every task, even when it wasn’t her job. She was truly looking out for the well-being of my mother.

At the end of the day, Naomi was above no task, no complaint was too small, and no issue was left unresolved. The ability to proactively anticipate my mother’s needs was inspiring. Naomi was truly a light in the darkness for my mother. Fear and anxiety fled when she was present. I hope Naomi gets to read this. If she does, I just wanted to say thank you on behalf of my mother and my entire family. Thank you!
