Our mom fell and was brought to the ER in Roanoke Rapids. After taking X-rays, the doctor told me she had broken her pelvic bone, so they placed her on the Medical Step Down Unit with some amazing nurses. But one of the nurses caught my attention because she was really nice, very friendly, and always greeted me with a smile. This was my first time seeing these nurses. But I noticed when I was spending the nights with my mom and Nardos Bayu was working, she treated her with so much respect, and if something needed to be done, she did it. She always made sure I was comfortable as well. If my mom's machine went off, she came into the room to make sure the problem was fixed. My mom is 99 years old, and Nardos Bayu treated her very well. I want to thank her for her kindness and for always smiling, even when she didn't want to, because my mom was a handful.
