Nassrene was working on a weekend with a patient who was in Behavioral Health who had lost her child years previously. The patient was distraught because she had always bought balloons and let them up in the sky every year for her child’s birthday, but she couldn’t do it this year because she was an inpatient. When Nassrene got off work, she bought balloons, brought them back to the hospital, and had the staff bring the patient to the window so she could let the balloons off for the patient’s child. She is simply making a difference, one patient at a time.
