February 2015 Honoree
natalie cummings, RN
Natalie Cummings stepped up to the plate and made a wonderful impression on the patient and his family during his final hours - palliative care at its best.
The daughter of the patient called our ANS, wanting to express her gratitude for the care her
father received on 5 East. He passed away and his daughter felt that somebody needed to know the kind of exceptional care her father received.
Natalie was compassionate and kind, not only to her father, but to every family member. She said his last hours were peaceful and pain free. She said she knew Natalie was busy, but she was so attentive to her father and the family; that she never made them feel like she didn't have time. Natalie went way beyond expectations, according to the daughter. Her exact words were, "I didn't know at the time that my father and my family would be so lucky to have her as our nurse".
