My husband was scheduled for a hiatal hernia surgery. Natalie noticed that he looked pale and ordered a CBC. His hemoglobin was very low. The surgery was canceled as the anesthesiologist would not proceed with his hemoglobin so low. The nurse, Natalie, and the doctor discussed this with us. Natalie asked if it was possible to admit my husband to give him blood to help him feel better and either proceed with surgery or expedite the next course, a colonoscopy. The doctor took Natalie’s suggestion into consideration, and my husband was admitted, and received 2 bags of blood. We are so thankful Natalie ordered the CBC and suggested having my husband admitted! Thank you, Nurse Natalie!
