Natalie always goes the extra mile for our patients and staff. She is a fearless lead nurse and cheerleader who encourages us all. She moves around the unit like a bumblebee checking in on every nurse and patient. She answers call lights, washes hair, gets toasty blankets from the warmer, and really listens to personal details that matter to our patients. Today Natalie was calming a confused patient who asked about someone. I wasn't sure who she was talking about, but Natalie knew right away that the woman was asking about her dog. She reassured our patient that her dog was fine and that her daughter was taking care of him. The patient visibly relaxed and was no longer upset. The way that things have been overwhelming in this pandemic has been made tolerable with this Natalie's compassion, mindfulness, and excellent leadership. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
