Natalie was nominated by the son of a patient who she cared for in the Neuro ICU. The patient's son praised Natalie for her nurturing care of his mother at a time when the results of her medical tests were not what the family had hoped. He wrote:
"Not only did Natalie take excellent physical care of my mother by being available and responsive, but she was remarkable at establishing a positive and compassionate setting immediately following surgery. Natalie's actions and cheerful disposition made a considerable difference in my mother's emotional well-being during an extremely vulnerable time."
