Natasha Maith, MSN, RN, CNEcl

We are nominating Natasha for a DAISY Award for the compassionate care she provided to our Mother while she was hospitalized. During this time Natasha helped Mother and her family as we struggled to understand her health issues and complications. Natasha is more than a nurse…she is a modern say SUPER HERO! Natasha helped Mother relax and made her comfortable throughout her stay on 3 South. She consistently acted in a calm and reassuring manner when interacting with her. She took the time to get to know Mother which allowed her to understand and at times anticipate her needs. She patiently listened, explained what she was doing, and provided answers to her questions. Natasha was very attentive, responsive, and patient when dealing with Mother. She attended to her personal needs and provided encouragement. She accommodated Mother's impaired hearing, responded timely and appropriately to fluctuations in her blood pressure, and frequently adjusted her bed and positioning to make her comfortable. Natasha's presence and overall demeanor were comforting to Mother. She was always available to answer questions and if she needed to find the answer, she followed up quickly. Natasha is a role model for everyone in the nursing profession. The passion, professionalism, knowledge, and confidence Natasha demonstrated are the characteristics and traits that should be emulated throughout the nursing profession.
