Nate has been very attentive, very knowledgeable about his job as well as being efficient and planning ahead. He is very caring not only about his patients but also about the family members. He takes the time to explain procedures before they are done and keeps the family abreast of results and their meaning and importance. Mercy is very fortunate to have Nate on board!

I am a 35 year BSN and charge nurse who has worked in the recovery room and a surgical unit, so it is with little prejudice I observed the evaluation, treatment and interaction the staff had with my mother. Both my sister an I were impressed with Nate who was one of mother's care-givers. He assessed her head-to-toe, always explaining and teaching as he completed his assessment telling her what he was going to do and why he was doing it. He protected her operation site pressure points and was careful with her fragile skin. He explained her medicines and told her how she was improving and what they were working on. He re-positioned her as needed. Nate has a wonderful sense of humor that helped her and encouraged her to do things she didn't want to do. He was kind, respectful, most thorough and professional. Nate was aware of labs and consultations, he was conscientious in his evaluations and care and we greatly appreciated him. We would like to express our deep thanks to Nate; he went above and beyond.
