August 2020 Honoree
nathan klucas, RN
Nate is so easy to work with. He is patient and kind not only with veterans but with staff. He exemplifies good patient care by going above and beyond.
Last week, we received a discharge summary on an HBPC veteran. He had been diagnosed with PE. He was discharged after one day with inappropriate meds to cover his condition. It was post-shift for Nate and he was home. We called to see if he would be willing to take new meds to the veteran and set it up. The family was unwilling to get the meds. Nate said yes. He drove to Alexandria from his home and delivered meds to Glenwood and then back home.
Today he made an extra visit. He arranged to be at a Veteran's home to coordinate a VVS so I could see his legs. He came to Alexandria and picked up medication and then brought it to the Veteran. He also sat in on a phone visit with the Veteran.
