May 2022 Honoree
Nathan Quirt, RN
Nathan was assigned to sit with a patient who became confused, combative, and agitated thinking that the nursing staff was trespassing in her home. This woman insulted several staff members and tried to bite and hit nursing staff and security for well over an hour, yet Nathan remained calm and kept his cool. He tried to talk with her, redirect and distract her, all while doing his best to keep her safe. He was incredibly helpful in trying to calm her, and all of us working the floor are thankful. We know Nathan normally works in the OR, and want other staff members to know and recognize his resilience, compassion, and flexibility in trying situations. Thank you, Nathan, for all that you do in the OR and on the floor to keep our patients safe!
Thank you, Nathan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
