We are so grateful that Nate was the nurse caring for our dad and believe he held an important role in his recovery due to his willingness to go above and beyond his normal duties.
Our father was admitted to the ICU initially and then moved down to the PCU, where he was going through alcohol withdrawal along with several other issues. Nate was his nurse on day 2 in the PCU and again on day 3 until he was stable enough to move to the Ortho Floor. Nate was one of the most compassionate nurses that our father has received care from, and did a fantastic job managing our dad's difficult and snappy personality, which was amplified by the withdrawal. Nate dedicated lots of time explaining things to our dad and helping him to feel comfortable despite the situation he was in. He also took the time to explain things in depth to our family and helped us to advocate for answers and adjust his medical care when we needed it. He showed no judgment or bias towards alcohol abuse and was clearly dedicated to not only providing the best care but also establishing a connection with our dad and the family. We are so grateful that Nate was the nurse caring for our dad and believe he held an important role in his recovery due to his willingness to go above and beyond his normal duties.
