From the start until the end of the mission, he never showed withdrawal even if there were pertinent risks to his life. A few minutes after the aircraft crash landing, he actively participated in the search through the burning and exploding plane wreckage. At ground zero, he provided swift first aid treatments and facilitated the quick ambulance transport of the crash victims to the emergency room of camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital at Jolo, Sulu. For days, he continuously helped in the stabilization, management, and air transport of the victims showcasing his superb knowledge and skill in trauma nursing which greatly increased the survival rate of those burned and wounded aboard the ill-fated air asset. His perseverance to save others was valved by medical officers, nurses and other healthcare professionals present there for his energy and positively encouraged their team to bring out the best in them despite the pressure brought about by the emergency situations of the victims, orders from higher headquarters, patients’ relatives and the local and national media.
