When you think about words that describe a nurse, the ICARE values come to mind: Integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence. Ms. Diop exhibits these core values in all aspects of performance of her duties. She is knowledgeable about her craft and is always polite to both staff and patients. She volunteers and is a team player always helping others. I observed her multitasking while she was caring for me, including caring for patients, receiving phone calls, and responding to alarms, and she never complained or appeared overwhelmed. She ensured that all safety protocols were followed while ensuring that her patients were comfortable and had everything they required. She responded swiftly and thoroughly to queries. She was friendly, concerned, and a genuine pleasure to be around. I am extremely grateful that she was one of the nurses who cared for me and the other veterans. I observe other patients praising her for going above and beyond expectations. She is a tremendous asset to the organization.
