Dr. Wright has been encouraging and resourceful. Each and every day she shows up and puts her best foot forward. She takes time out of her day to show up for her students, including student success on Fridays and responding to emails after hours. Her course has been very organized and has equipped me with so much knowledge to take into my future career.

She has been a great mentor in giving career advice; she asks for constructive criticism to improve her workflow for the betterment of her students, and she always has a smile that will brighten anyone’s day. She has instilled in me a work ethic, confidence in skills, and organization that I will carry with me for a lifetime.

I’m nominating Dr. Nedra Wright because she has gone above and beyond in her teaching. Her lessons are easy to understand and straightforward. She gives us plenty of resources to ensure our success. I would like to nominate Dr. Wright for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators. She really stands out in the way she supports her students and creates a positive learning environment. As she is my N304 instructor, she goes above and beyond for us to make sure we understand the material. She’s the kind of professor who genuinely cares and makes it known that we should not be afraid to ask questions.

Her favorite saying is “I would rather you get it wrong and learn now, than to go into the real world without knowing something.”

Dr. Wright explains material in a way that actually makes sense, breaking down complex topics without making students feel overwhelmed. She leads by example and pushes us to be better, not just in school but as future nurses. She’s flexible and understands that everyone learns differently, and she adjusts her teaching to help us succeed. She also gives honest, helpful feedback that we can actually use to improve.

You can tell she loves what she does, and that motivates us to keep learning and growing. She also teaches more than one class, which is amazing, and she goes above and beyond for all students.

Overall, she’s made a strong impact on her students and truly represents what a great nurse educator should be.

Thank you, Nedra N., for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
