Loving, caring, kind, thoughtful, sincere, and compassionate are just a few words that best describe Neeka Nevins. Our beloved friend passed away at the age of 60 in Feb this year. Throughout his journey, we were fortunate to have met Neeka. From the very first day, her sweet spirit brightened the room. Our friend looked forward to seeing her. She took time to explain his condition, treatments, and prognosis. She listened to his concerns and offered valuable feedback.
Living 3 hours away from the treatment center created many challenges and obstacles. Neeka contacted the American Cancer Society to ensure that he was provided hotel stays and meals as needed. As his condition deteriorated she would call and see how he was doing.
At the end of his journey, we were blessed with the experience of the Hospice House. After working a full day in the clinic, Neeka came to visit one last time. She and her husband prayed for our friend and for us. It was the most peaceful closure. We are so thankful for the love and support of this wonderful person! She is amazing and truly deserving of this award. She went above and beyond for our friend. We will always be forever grateful for the love and friendship she has shown us and our friend.
