“I was in the hospital for a hysterectomy. I had a nurse named Neely that was my overnight nurse. I got excellent care from everyone, but Neely was so special. She took great care of me and when modesty is thrown out the window, she showed me such care and concern. I didn’t feel so embarrassed. She shared some of herself with us and that makes it even more personal and more special. My mother and I both were awed by her care and compassion. She left such a great impression on us and my husband also. I hope that even if she doesn’t win that she knows that she left such a positive impression on us; and I will never forget how she made me feel better not by just doing her job, but being a caring person.”
