There was a night when our unit was extremely busy and short-staffed, and everyone was running around trying to keep up. In the middle of it all, one of our patients became anxious and tried to get out of bed. Without hesitation, Neizel stepped in, calmly approached the patient, and gently helped them back to bed while talking to them with so much patience and kindness.

She reassured the patient that they were safe and cared for, which immediately helped calm them down. It was one of those moments that really showed her compassion and quick thinking under pressure. What stood out even more was that Neizel didn’t stop there. Even as the charge nurse that night, she continued to check on that patient throughout the shift while still helping the rest of the team.

She made sure everyone had the support they needed, from helping newer nurses with their patients to assisting techs when things got hectic. She stayed calm, positive, and organized the whole time, which kept the team grounded and the unit running smoothly. Neizel is the kind of nurse who leads by example. She doesn’t just delegate, she jumps in and works alongside the team. You can always count on her for guidance, support, and compassion, whether it’s for a patient or a coworker. When she’s charged, you can feel the difference on the floor.
